Denbighshire Healthy Schools WebsiteThis site is dedicated to the Denbighshire Healthy Schools Scheme. The site provides an overview of a health promoting school and a brief history of the European Network of Health Promoting Schools and the Welsh Network of Healthy Schools Schemes.
The site also contains a wealth of information for Denbighshire Schools that are accredited to the Denbighshire Healthy Schools Scheme, with template and example action plans, assessment tools, resources, examples of good practice and useful links. Details about forthcoming events are also posted on the site. Information can also be found about the Denbighshire Healthy Schools Steering Group.
Paula Roberts – Denbighshire Healthy Schools CoordinatorPaula Roberts is the coordinator for the Denbighshire Healthy Schools Scheme. This is a full time post, and is based at the Education Centre on Middle Lane in Denbigh. The post is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, and the coordinators work is guided by a local steering group. An outline of the role is provided below -
To support the schools within the healthy school scheme through half day and one day events, school visits, e-mail and telephone contacts – which offer consultation and advice, opportunities to network and share best practice, in-put by ‘experts’ in relevant arenas.
To service the local Steering Group as negotiated and agreed.
To recruit new schools into the scheme in line with the Local Strategy.
To Service and administer the Denbighshire Healthy Schools Scheme in a manner acceptable to the National Assembly for Wales and all the partners in the local scheme.
Participate in training events and national meetings hosted by the Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes.
Participate in the North Wales forum of the Healthy School Scheme co-ordinators.
