THANKS AND BEST WISHES Posted Friday 10 August 2007 - 19:17:02
A brief letter of thanks to everyone for the overwhelming kindness in the shape of letters, cards and gifts which were presented to me prior to my family's departure to Switzerland.

Heading Frongoch has been one of life's greatest pleasures and the children, parents and staff I have have worked with over the past six years have brought me so much happiness.

I wish everyone, particularly those going on to new schools, every success and happiness - I will not forget you or the way you enriched my life during my time at Frongoch.

May I convey every possible success and happiness to Mrs Thackray and the team as September looms. I will watch this website with great interest as the school goes from strength to strength.

Gareth Davies (Former Head Teacher Ysgol Frongoch).

PRAISE INDEED Posted Friday 08 June 2007 - 15:48:58
The following email arrived in school today and made us all feel very proud of our youngsters. The senders are members of the public who happened to be on the ferry when we returned last month from France.

To the pupils and teachers of Ysgol Frongoch

We were on the same Cross Channel Ferry as your school party on their
return from France on 14/5/07.
We had just sat down near the window in a very peaceful area when your
large school party group arrived and sat near us. Many of the other
passengers moved away to avoid the potential noise and disruption. We
thought about moving & decided we would wait a while. We were so pleased that we didn't move because the children were delightful & well behaved.
The teachers were in full control of the situation and we were surprised at the ease with which they handled a large group of tired and hungry young people. We spoke to one of your pupils
who gave us the name of your school. We also spoke to some of your
teachers who filled us in on the detail of where they had been.
In the present climate when the media are full of bad news stories about
our young people it was a pity they did not witness the true situation.
The whole group were a credit to their parents and your school.

The Junior Road Safety Officers from Denbighshire primary schools, including Josh and Bianca from Frongoch admire the North Wales Police Helicopter. During Safety Day the children were also treated to presentations from North Wales Ambulance Service and Arrive Alive.

NEW HEAD IS ANNOUNCED! Posted Tuesday 08 May 2007 - 10:35:46

Congratulations to Mrs Ruth Thackray on being appointed as Head of Ysgol Frongoch from September 2007.

Mrs Thackray was Senior Teacher here until last July when she was appointed Head of Bodfari School. Although she will be sorely missed there, she will be welcomed back to the Frongoch Family after the Summer Holidays.
