Rounders Tournament

On Thursday 12th June, we played in a rounders tournament with 4 other schools (Ysgol Bryn Hedydd, Christ Church, Ysgol Llewelyn and Ysgol Hiraddug).
In our team were Adam, Ben, Benjamin, Johnson, Kyle, Leah, Casey, Nicola, Jessica, Bethany, Maisie and Aaron.
We enjoyed the tournament, it was wicked and brill. We all tried our best against the challenging teams
All the other teams were very competitive and good players.
We beat Ysgol Hiraddug 11-6 but we lost against the other teams.

Lunchtimes Activities

In Ysgol Melyd at dinnertime there are games held on the field 12:40-1pm. There are different activities. On the field there is rounders on Monday, french cricket on Tuesday,tennis on Wednesday, mini aerobics & parachute on Thursday, dodge ball on friday. bottom yard 12-1pm.football on Monday, football on Tuesday, football on Wednesday, football on Thursday. Football on Friday.Top yard 12-1pm. Monday skipping, Tuesday ball skills, Wednesday clwb dal l fynd, Thursday yard games, Friday hula hoops. Under 7s 12-1pm, Monday dolls/barbies, Tuesday dolls/barbies, Wednesday dolls/barbies, Thursday dolls/barbies, Friday dolls/barbies. Quiet area
Monday books, Tuesday colouring, Wednesday books, Thursday colouring, Friday books.

SUMMER FAYRE

Our School's summer fayre is being held on 4th July 2008. Please support our school by attending if you can.
The P.T.A work very hard to raise funds for the school which enable your children to have subsidised swimming and school trips as well as visitors to the school etc.
At the moment the P.T.A. are looking for donations towards the summer fayre ie.
Bottles of drink (pop, wine, beer, water etc.)
Clean and tidy teddies

Ysgol Melyd's annual sports day will be on 3rd July 2008.
We are hoping after last years wash-out weather, that this years will be better than ever!

Chernobyl Kids

On the 18th June 2008 we will are hosting a group of children visiting Britain from Chernobyl. After a visit to the dentist and some new clothes from ASDA they are coming to have dinner with us!
They will then be treated to a concert by Ysgol Melyd pupils.

Art Club and Nature Club are joining forces until the end of the summer term.
There are competitions to enter and fun to have with Mrs Bradshaw and Mrs Williams.

School Council

The school council is a group of children who regularly meet and make decisions about how the school could be improved.
They have recently purchased, out of their annual budget, a new bin which is on the school yard.

FREE FRUIT!

The Welsh Assembly are now providing fruit each day for your child. The children choose daily which fruit they would like (apple, pear, orange, kiwi, Satsuma or banana).
The skins are being recycled too and put into our wormery. Worm heaven!
